The first snow of the season~
Of all times it chooses to snow eh? JUST on the day I have to go to school for exams. Snow is nice and all and I love the snow, but walking through the snow to get to exams and whatnot?… not fun… especially since my campus is completely outdoors. Well, it’s not snowing anymore but it is raining really hard, which makes it just as miserable to walk through. Iono though, snow just… makes the season feel more festive and whatnot and it’s like a reality jolt saying that the Christmas holidays are almost here.
Anyways, my Phil 100 exam is in 45 minutes so I’ll cut it off there but I will say this: Im going to have A LOT of fun getting home through this rain >_> Not to mention I need to finish my exam early to catch a bus home… really though, WHY would you put an exam on Friday at 7 pm? >_> It’s almost as fail as all the first years complaining about having an Econ midterm at 7 pm on Halloween, lol.

A video preview (sort of)
Well, I havent been posting actively lately… heck, in a long time but… here we go. Finally something new for you guys to look at/listen to. After tonnes of work, I have finally come up with… well, something.
For those who havent been keeping track, Ive been having problems getting “quality” recording… simply put, my laptop and mp3 mics both suck A LOT and I end up with shitty quality. This time, I tried using my DVD Camcorder, hoping it’s mic is better. I merely used that and then extracted it into MP3 format. This provided a whole new problem in itself because I dont like having people around when I record music so I had to wait for a time when my whole family wasnt home and I am, which is Monday and Wednesday nights and for a few weeks, even then, there were people home so it took a while before I could actually get time to myself to record, adding to my fustrations.
With all that being said, this is something new in <some> senses. While my compositional techniques stay somewhat the same, the mood I aimed for this time is different. As is the treatment of the melody and the contrast I stuck in it.
With this, I present to you, “The Coffin of Regrets”.

I havent posted in a while so… yeah. No Im not dead, not yet anyways. A little list for myself to keep track with things I have to do. This is really for me to see though if you want to look at it, that’s fine by me.

A choir practice made of lol
As much as we should show respect to the soldiers who died fighting in WWI, WWII, etc., the fact that there’s no school tomorrow keeps coming up and because tomorrow is a day off, Monday was very slack for me. My Scan Lit prof canceled class today because tomorrow is Rememberance Day and we dont have Scan Lit on Tuesdays, meaning I finished at 10 am this morning and had a giant block till Philosophy 100 at 4 PM. I strategically skipped that and showed up for choir at 6 and that’s when this day got interesting.
I thought about skipping choir as well, seeing as I’d be taking a 30 minute bus ride back to school JUST to go to choir and… yeah. Im allowed 3 skips a semester to still get an A and have used up 1 with like 4 classes left so I definitely wouldnt be missing much. Im not sure if I was the only one who found a day off on a Tuesday strange as that would mean a 2 day weekend, then school for a day, then another day off, making that day in between really… well, “I dont want to be there” moody.

As many of you have remembered, when I initially started the blog, I had planned a 120 video for ALastReprise. I hit 120 back in February so where did that go? Over the summer, I had gotten up in arms and started filming for the video but that never got anywhere and all the footage is still just sitting somewhere in my computer. That being said, what do I have planned? I havent given a video update in ages so here it is:

The rising sun after a long night
Some of you who have me on msn know I have a long week though some might not. Im pretty good at keeping these things to myself when I feel like it and if you didnt notice, that’s fine. So anyways, its 10 am Monday right now and already, Ive had 1 midterm, 2 quizes and handed in tw assignments.
Being the procrastinator that I am, I naturally didnt plan out my time too well though Im not sure I could’ve even if I tried.

Close call
As some of you might know, my dad’s gone in Cleveland/New York/DC for the next week or so (He left last Friday) and as I usually got rides to school in the morning, this means that I have to bus now. Every day I have class at 8 am, meaning if I were to bus to school, I’d have 3 buses I can catch: 7:07, 7:14 and 7:17. With that in mind, I usually aim to wake up at 6:45ish (alarm clock set to 6:30) and leave at 7 and get there roughly at 7:10 (It takes roughly 10 minutes to walk out when Im not trying, 7 when I walk at a normal pace and… yeah). That way, if the 07 bus is late, I’d get on that and I’d be early/in time for the 14/17 (in case one is full). Which leads to this morning…

Is the bet over?
For those of you who have me on msn, you’d know that I was pretty pissed at my theory midterm mark. Why? Note: Only people with some understanding in music will understand.
The part everyone can understand: I got the whole question right except for those 4 notes in the bass and tenor… 5 marks off (1 mark off for a chord near the end).
The part music people will understand: HOW RETARDED CAN I BE?!?! >_< Not only do I have parallel octaves, I have an augmented 2nd interval in the tenor AND there shouldnt have been the augmented 2nd at all because the chord should’ve had a B flat, not a B natural (which is stupid because then I’d have BOTH A B flat and B natural in the same chord).
With that in mind, what did I get? Cindy, read more to see your fate!
An EXTREMELY late maple update

Election Day (late post)
I meant to post on this yesterday but I just didnt have time… a math assignment kept me up till 3 and Im pretty dead as it is… Im just hoping to somehow stay awake through my classes and leave at 7:30 (in 6 hours… Ive been here since 8 am).
Anyways, as some of you might or might not know, yesterday was the Canadian federal election and being 19, I was able to vote for the first time. This election campaign started roughly one month ago and I have to say, by the end of it I was utterly annoyed. I only roughly paid attention to what the parties were saying but the message that I got out of the ads and the news was this: Conservatives-Stephen Dione is UNRELIABLE! Dont vote him, vote us! Liberals-Stephen Harper is BAD for he economy, vote us! Carbon Tax FTW!
Really elections arent about making the other parties look bad, it’s about standing for what you believe and what you want to push and do if/when you become Prime Minister. WIth that in mind, I wanted to vote NDP as I felt what Jack Layton was saying was good and I agreed with what he wanted to do.
I tell that to my sister… bad mistake. My dad overhears it and basically tells me I shouldnt vote for them and should vote Conservative because he is. When I wanted to look for the Liberal platform (just to compare what everyone is trying to do), he got even more pissed and basically said “You are not voting Liberal”… It’s my vote. I should be able to do with it however I want. Going into the voting place, he kept telling me how bad the NDP was and how all their ideas are deceptions and all and I just couldnt help but think that my vote is “tainted” either way and I was divided on who to vote for. What did I vote? I’ll keep that to myself. The Conservatives won and good for them, though it really is no surprise. It’s another minority government though so what’s the point of the election? Nothing really… oh well. First time voting experience (and annoyance, haha). Hopefully I’ll be more prepared next time.
